Bio:

Dave Buckner is in his 16th year with Sabey Data Centers, leading a team tasked with ensuring the effective delivery and continuous improvement of data center capacity. This includes overseeing engineering efforts, driving innovation in facility design, and managing the development of technologies to enhance data center performance.

Before joining the private sector, Dave served 21 years in the U.S. Navy. His expertise as a submarine nuclear power plant operator honed his discipline, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.

Course Description:

This presentation will discuss current, in progress, and upcoming data center owner requirements and how they are impacting their energy use, design, construction, commissioning, and operations.

As data center facilities have become increasingly more complex with their heat transfer and reliability requirements, the importance of coordination between the owner, the design and construction teams to navigate new projects and facility upgrades has never been greater. This environment has placed a large reliance on the planning, execution, and documentation efforts where commissioning is centric to a project’s ongoing success.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objectives:

1) Evaluate current data center designs and in progress changes to meet operational and economic demands.

2) Assess the impact of increasing data center energy densities and what design and operational changes are being made to meet the new demands.

3) Identify Gaps in Commissioning at Data Centers

4) Define project lessons learned at Data Center projects
